Malik Agar Affirms State’s Interest in Supporting Women’s Sectors

Khartoum: Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander Malik Agar, has affirmed the state’s interest in women’s issues and the provision of the necessary support for women’s sectors to enable them to play their roles during the coming period. This initiative aims to contribute to the reconstruction and rebuilding of what was vandalized by war, as well as to strengthen the peace process.

According to Sudan News Agency, during his meeting with the Country Director of the United Nations Women Program, His Excellency stressed the importance of supporting and empowering women by providing means of production and involving relevant organizations. This emphasis is particularly significant after the suffering and violations committed against women by the terrorist rebel militia in Sudan.

The meeting also delved into the role women can play in supporting peace in Sudan and strengthening joint action between Sudan and the United Nations.
