Lebanon: Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun has affirmed that he is committed to entrenching civil peace and internal security in Lebanon, stressing that anyone who stokes tensions in Lebanon is providing a service to Israel.
According to Qatar News Agency, Aoun emphasized that civil peace can never be compromised, highlighting that the Lebanese people are convinced that no one will be left behind. He noted that the political elite in the country is also striving to eliminate the problem and its disastrous impact by pursuing a clear, unified discourse.
In addition, Aoun reiterated that the backbone and foundation for preventing strife are the military and security apparatuses. These forces often face criticism and vilification, even as they continue to make significant sacrifices. He praised the dedication of military and security personnel who are fulfilling their duties despite the challenging economic crisis engulfing Lebanon.
