Khartoum: Minister of Federal Government and Urban Development, Eng. Mohamed Kurtikila Salih, discussed with the Turkish Ambassador to Sudan Fatih Yildiz, in his office on Thursday, ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries.
According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting focused on ways to consolidate joint cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of rural development and the exchange of Turkish expertise in local and municipal affairs.
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the Ministry’s duties and responsibilities, indicating that its priorities are supporting rural development efforts and achieving social stability. He expressed his appreciation for the Turkish experience in this field.
The Minister explained that the meeting underscored the need to develop joint cooperation between the two countries into programs, and that this cooperation will be developed in the future. He highlighted the importance of advancing existing cooperation between the two countries towards broader horizons and transforming it into practical programs that contribute to serving sustainable development.
The Minister also expressed his thanks and appreciation to Turkey for its supportive stance towards Sudan, especially in light of the current challenges.
For his part, Turkish Ambassador to Sudan Fatih Yildiz affirmed Turkey’s continued support for Sudan and the Sudanese people, emphasizing the deep brotherly relations between the two countries.
The Turkish ambassador indicated his country’s full readiness to exchange expertise and experiences with Sudan, particularly in the field of developing the work of municipalities and local authorities, stressing his country’s keenness to present concrete proposals for joint cooperation in this domain.
The Turkish ambassador also expressed Turkey’s readiness to propose practical projects that can be implemented in coordination with Turkish municipalities or through the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), contributing to supporting local development efforts in Sudan.
