Khartoum: The Khartoum State Government Council on Tuesday approved the state's 2026 budget, placing priority on reconstruction programmes and the restoration of basic services, including health, water, electricity, and education.
According to Sudan News Agency, Acting Minister of Finance Dr. Nawal Bashir Banga stated that the budget was prepared under complex post-war conditions. She emphasized that it underscores transparency, sound governance, and expanded social protection for vulnerable families.
Wali of Khartoum State Ahmed Osman Hamza praised the efforts behind the budget's preparation. He called for the swift completion of the accompanying legislation to ensure effective implementation.
