Khartoum: The statement said that “The Spokesperson of the Kenyan Government admitted on 16 June that UAE is supporting the terrorist RSF militia to seize Sudan’s natural resources and to establish a foothold on the Red Sea. By this admission, the Spokesperson has just stated the obvious.”
According to Sudan News Agency, the statement continues, “A more pertinent and alarming issue, however, is the involvement of the Kenyan Government itself in backing the terrorist Janjaweed militia. Last month, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) uncovered Kenyan-labelled arms and ammunition in the terrorist RSF militia’s weapon caches in Khartoum.”
The Sudan News Agency (SUNA) has published the press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Sudan, which highlights the claims against the Kenyan Government. The statement laments Kenya’s role as a major conduit for Emirati military supplies to the RSF militia, which is considered a violation of international law and good neighborly relations.
Instead of addressing these accusations, the Kenyan Spokesperson allegedly attempted to justify UAE’s involvement by suggesting that certain countries are aiding SAF. The Sudanese Armed Forces, however, assert their constitutional and moral obligation to defend the nation and its people. The international community, according to the press statement, is urged to support Sudan’s right to self-defense against the RSF militia and its international backers.
Furthermore, the statement criticizes the Kenyan Spokesperson for endorsing the RSF’s attempt to establish a parallel government, termed the ‘Government of Peace.’ This move has been widely condemned by the United Nations, African Union (AU), and other international and regional organizations. The AU Peace and Security Council has called on member states to refrain from supporting such initiatives, warning that Kenya’s stance poses a threat to regional stability and African territorial integrity.
Sudan has reiterated its call for Kenya to adhere to its international obligations under the United Nations Charter and the AU’s Constitutive Act, urging it to cease support for the RSF militia and respect the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other states.
