Port Sudan: Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris has reviewed the overall situation of education in the country, particularly preparations for the postponed 2024 Sudanese Certificate exams, as well as the intermediate and primary school certificate exams. He spotlighted the importance of prioritizing education, particularly in light of the War of Dignity against the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Prime Minister met, at his office in Port Sudan on Monday, with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Ahmed Khalifa, to discuss the latest developments regarding the education issue and areas that require further attention. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education said, in press statements, that the Prime Minister expressed great interest in the education issue and affirmed his strong support for education programs and projects, especially the Sudanese Certificate exam, as it is a national security issue and represents one of the pillars of national unity.
Khalifa said, “We briefed the Prime Minister on the progress of the exams and the ministry’s programs,” noting that the Prime Minister confirmed his participation in the inauguration of the exam sessions, his efforts to overcome all obstacles to the Sudanese Certificate project, and his commitment to making every effort to enable students to sit for the exams. Khalifa said that the Prime Minister praised the efforts of teachers nationwide, stressing that education is among the Prime Minister’s priorities for the next phase.
