Kamil Idris Stresses Importance of Communications and Digital Transformation for State Development

Port sudan: Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris emphasized the critical role of developing the country’s communications infrastructure, identifying communications and digital transformation as the primary components necessary for building a modern state. Dr. Idris expressed his commitment to enhancing this sector during a meeting held at his office in Port Sudan with Dr. Al-Sadig Jamal Al-Din, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Transformation.

According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting involved an in-depth discussion about the current status of the ministry and the challenges it faces, particularly those arising from the systematic damage inflicted on infrastructure by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. The Prime Minister was briefed on these issues and expressed concern, underscoring the importance of advancing communications to establish a modern state foundation.

Dr. Al-Sadig Jamal Al-Din, in a statement to SUNA, mentioned that the Prime Minister issued directives focused on several key areas, including the development of fiber networks for educational purposes, the integration of artificial intelligence, the expansion of fifth-generation networks, and the enhancement of the postal system. The Prime Minister reaffirmed his support for the digital transformation initiatives.

Dr. Al-Sadig highlighted that the Prime Minister’s directives are expected to positively impact the communications sector. He emphasized the ministry’s dedication to implementing these directives, viewing them as essential steps toward establishing a robust digital transformation infrastructure.
