Japanese Stocks Close Lower Amid Trading Decline

Tokyo: Japanese stock indexes closed lower at the end of trading on Tuesday, after the Nikkei retreated from the all-time high it recorded in the previous session. The Nikkei ended down 0.3 percent at 66,734.24 points, after falling by as much as 2 percent during the session.

According to Qatar News Agency, the broader Topix index also declined 0.42 percent to 3,924.24 points by the close of trading. Of the nearly 1,500 stocks traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange's Prime Market, only 28 percent advanced, while 69 percent declined.
