Nouakchott: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Engineer Ibrahim Jabir, praised the advanced level of performance of the two poles of Sudanese football – Al-Hilal and Al-Merreikh – which brought joy and hope to the hearts of the Sudanese people, in addition to the victories achieved by the armed forces and the forces supporting them over the rebel militia in the Battle of Dignity.
According to Sudan News Agency, TSC Member stressed, during his visit to the Al-Hilal and Al-Merreikh camps in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott, his confidence in the capability of the two teams to achieve victories and raise the name of Sudan in all international and regional forums.
His Excellency pointed out that what the sports teams have presented in light of the crisis that the country is currently experiencing is a source of pride for all Sudanese, particularly the participation of the two teams in the Mauritanian League, noting that sports are
one of the arms of people’s diplomacy through which our teams have been able to present a living model of perseverance, steadfastness and achieving the desired goals by raising the name of Sudan in international sports forums.
The Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces stressed the depth of bilateral relations between Sudan and Mauritania in all fields.
