Khartoum: The Media and Public Relations Department at the Sudan Electricity Company reported that Om Dabakir transformer station was targeted by a drone that hit the station on Sunday at dawn, damaging the transformer feeding the White Nile, Kosti, and Rabak.
According to Sudan News Agency, this incident marks the seventh consecutive attack on power stations, following previous incidents at Merowe Distribution and Merowe Transformer twice, as well as Al-Shouk and Dongola. These attacks have been impacting essential services for citizens, including water and health services.
The Media and Public Relations Department at the Sudan Electricity Company assured citizens that a technical team comprising engineers, technicians, and workers is currently on-site. The team is assessing the damage and working diligently to repair it, aiming to restore power to the affected areas promptly.
A statement from the department concluded with a promise to provide more detailed information as it becomes available.
