Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Jabir, has affirmed the government’s keenness to support the projects of the Sudanese Association for Liver Transplantation Care and Indigenization (SALTCI) and its efforts to resume liver transplantation operations in the country.
According to Sudan News Agency, during a meeting with the association’s delegation, headed by Dr. Mohamed El-Sherif, in his office on Wednesday, TSC Member got acquainted with the association’s performance report and the outcome of foreign visits to Nigeria and Egypt, with the aim of exploring ways to enhance joint cooperation, establish partnerships with these countries, and exchange expertise in the medical field. Jabir also received a report on the resumption of liver transplantation operations at Alia Specialized Hospital in Omdurman.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed El-Sherif, SALTCI Head, said, in a press statement, that the meeting was successful,
noting that TSC Member expressed his comprehension and full readiness to support the association’s progress.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Sharif also pointed out that the war will not halt the process of reconstruction, development, and building to advance the country’s health sector.
