Port Sudan: The chairman and members of the Investigation Committee into the events that recently unfolded in Kambo Taiba, Al-Gezira State, took their oath of office before Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander Malik Agar, in Portsudan. This action follows the decision by TSC President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, to establish the committee.
According to Sudan News Agency, the head of the committee, Yassir Bashir Al-Bukhari, who is also the First Assistant to the Attorney General of the Republic of Sudan, confirmed in a press statement that the committee would commence its mission immediately. Their tasks include interrogating witnesses, hearing their statements, collecting evidence, and determining all the reasons, circumstances, and conditions that led to the events. The committee will also assess the losses and take all necessary measures to enforce the law, ensuring that judicial and regulatory bodies work towards achieving justice and establishing the rule of law.
President Al-Burhan’s decision to form the committee highlights the urgency and importance of addressing the events in Kambo Taiba. Yassir Bashir Al-Bukhari leads the committee, with membership comprising other key figures, to thoroughly investigate and bring clarity to the situation.
