Interior Minister Inspects Anti-Smuggling Directorate in Kassala

Kassala: Minister of Interior Lt. Gen. (Police) Babiker Samra Mustafa, accompanied by state officials, inspected the Anti-Smuggling Directorate in Kassala. During the visit, the minister examined an exhibition displaying seized goods, which included electronics, mobile phones, food items, narcotics, medicines, and various weapons and ammunition.

According to Sudan News Agency, the directorate's director, Brig. Ahmed Al-Tayib, stated that the minister received a briefing on the operational performance and the challenges faced by the directorate. These challenges include managing wide and difficult border areas and dealing with high operational costs.

Brig. Al-Tayib further noted that the minister committed to providing support to enhance the directorate's performance. He also acknowledged the media's role in raising awareness about the dangers of smuggling, which is crucial for the directorate's efforts in curbing illegal activities.
