Khartoum: President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, inspected the Sudan National Museum on Wednesday. His visit focused on assessing the damage inflicted on the museum by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, linked to the Dagalo family.
According to Sudan News Agency, General Al-Burhan evaluated the magnitude of devastation and reviewed the ongoing efforts to catalog the artifacts and recover items smuggled abroad. The inspection aimed at understanding the extent of vandalization and planning the rehabilitation of the museum.
The TSC President issued directives to ensure the provision of all necessary facilities to aid in the recovery of lost antiquities and the restoration of the museum. This effort underscores the importance of preserving Sudan’s cultural heritage amidst ongoing conflicts.
