Increase in Corn Imports and Decrease in Prices in the Al-Qadarif Market

Al-qadarif: For the third consecutive day, the crop markets in Al-Qadarif witnessed a significant increase in the supply of various agricultural crops, alongside a noticeable decrease in prices, according to the Al-Qadarif Crops Exchange.

According to Sudan News Agency, there has been an increase in the import of various types of maize, with imports reaching 29,388 sacks of maize, 3,003 sacks of millet, and 7,094 sacks of sorghum. Additionally, the market saw the import of 2,194 sacks of sesame and 180 sacks of sunflowers.

The crop markets experienced a decrease in the prices of corn varieties. The price of a sack of corn fell to 255,000 pounds from 260,000 pounds, while another variety reached 230,000 pounds compared to 254,000 pounds. Further, one more variety of corn decreased to 220,000 pounds from 235,000 pounds. The price of millet was 355,000 pounds, and another type of corn was priced at 200,000 pounds compared to 210,000 pounds. Additionally, the price of a ton of snacks decreased to 2 million from 2.4 million, and a quintal of sesame reached 210,000 pounds.
