Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jabir, witnessed the launch of the ‘Yawhab’ Company campaign to clean and illuminate Sixtieth Street using solar energy. This initiative is part of combined popular and official efforts to prepare a conducive environment for citizens returning to Khartoum State.
According to Sudan News Agency, the event was attended by Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, Federal Minister of Health, and Khartoum State Wali (governor) Ahmed Osman Hamza. The Wali emphasized that such initiatives reflect solidarity efforts and fruitful national partnerships for reconstruction. He praised the contributions of national businesspersons and philanthropists in supporting what is referred to as the ‘Dignity Battle.’
Omar Abdel Monem Musa, Director of Yawhab Solar Systems, explained that the initiative aims to clean and illuminate Sixtieth Street with approximately 400 solar lamps and to combat dengue fever and other disease vectors through fog spraying. He also revealed plans for an additional initiative to install solar-powered traffic signals across all roads in Khartoum State. Musa called on all companies and businesspersons to join this initiative.
