Khartoum: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the commencement of online applications for admission to higher education institutions for the 2023-2024 academic year. The application process will begin at dawn on Saturday, June 28, 2025, and will close on the evening of Sunday, July 6, 2025.
According to Sudan News Agency, the online application process is open to students who have obtained the Sudanese Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent for the year 2023. The Ministry has urged students and their parents to consult the 2023 admissions guide for public and private higher education institutions. Information on application procedures is available on the website of the General Administration of Admission, Evaluation, and Authentication of Certificates. Application fees are to be paid via the Ministry of Finance’s “Esali” system, using the student’s seat number to verify their data on the secondary school certificate.
The application fee for Sudanese students residing within Sudan is set at 10,000 Sudanese pounds for those with a Sudanese certificate or its equivalent. For Sudanese students residing outside Sudan and holding non-Sudanese certificates, the fee is 100 US dollars.
The General Administration of Information Technology and Networks has stressed the importance of obtaining a claim number (invoice) through the application website. This number is required to make payments via the Ministry of Finance’s approved channels, such as the “Esali” program, which allows access to the application system using the application number.
Additionally, the General Administration of Admissions has specified that Sudanese students with Arab or foreign certificates for the year 2023 must submit a copy of the electronic form along with the original certified secondary school certificate to one of the General Administration of Admissions’ offices in Port Sudan or Omdurman. Alternatively, documents can be submitted to the centers of public universities in the states. This measure ensures consistency and the issuance of a unified seating number. Non-compliance with this step will result in the forfeiture of the student’s right to compete for admission.
Finally, the Ministry has confirmed that students can apply online from home. If this is not feasible, they are advised to visit the nearest electronic application center at universities across all Sudanese states, including public, private, foreign universities, and private colleges. These centers offer essential technical support and guidance to facilitate a smooth application process for both students and their parents.
