Khartoum: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Ahmed Mudawi Musa, has affirmed that the efforts undertaken by the National Student Welfare Fund to rehabilitate student housing complexes represent important support for the stability of the education process in Khartoum State.
According to Sudan News Agency, these efforts contribute to creating suitable conditions for the resumption of academic activity in an orderly and stable manner, as universities gradually resume operations at an accelerating pace. This was highlighted during Professor Musa's meeting on Tuesday at his office with the Secretary-General of the National Student Welfare Fund, Dr. Ahmed Hamza, who provided updates on ongoing reconstruction and rehabilitation work in several student housing complexes in the capital, Khartoum.
The Secretary-General explained that rehabilitation work has been fully completed in seven student complexes in Khartoum State, which are now ready for reopening and receiving students in the coming period. These include the Martyr Al-Fateh Hamza Dormitories in Omdurman, the Khadija and Abdal-Salam Suleiman Dormitories, and the Martyr Atef Al-Tijani City in Khartoum North, as part of the Fund's plan to restore student services and provide adequate housing.
The Minister praised the Fund's significant efforts in implementing reconstruction and rehabilitation projects, commending its role in providing student accommodation and services. He stressed that these efforts directly support the stability of higher education institutions and facilitate the return of universities to their campuses in Khartoum State.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and joint work to complete rehabilitation and development projects, ensuring a suitable educational and residential environment for students and supporting academic stability and recovery efforts in higher education institutions in the coming phase.
