Khartoum: The High Committee for the Preparation of Conditions for Return to Khartoum State, chaired by Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Eng. Ibrahim Jabir, has praised the significant efforts and notable achievements witnessed in the electricity sector in Khartoum State during the recent period.
According to Sudan News Agency, during its 17th regular meeting held Thursday in Khartoum, the committee heard a detailed report on the reform of the electricity sector presented by Minister of Energy and Petroleum Eng. Adviser Moatassim Ibrahim via video conference, along with the directors of the transmission, distribution, and holding companies.
For his part, Khartoum State Wali Ahmed Osman Hamza expressed his appreciation to all workers in the electricity sector and related companies, commending the substantial expansion of electricity coverage across several neighborhoods and vital sectors in the state.
The Wali stressed the importance of expediting the procurement of the remaining transformers and oils to ensure the full restoration of electricity service across all areas of the state.
The Director General of the Sudanese Electricity Distribution Company, Eng. Montasir Abdelrahman Al-Sheikh, revealed tangible progress in the sector, noting that several transformer stations had entered service, along with numerous neighborhoods and service facilities. He assured citizens that efforts are ongoing to provide the remaining transformers to achieve full illumination across Khartoum State.
