Khartoum: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, accompanied by the Acting Minister of Health in Khartoum State, Dr. Fath Al-Rahman Mohamed Al-Amin, and several health sector leaders, conducted a field tour on Wednesday. The tour included visits to Omdurman Teaching Hospital, Ahmed Gasim Hospital, and the National Ambulance Center to assess the readiness of health facilities and enhance treatment services.
According to Sudan News Agency, during his inspection of Omdurman Hospital, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim confirmed that the Cardiac Catheterization Unit would become operational in July. He acknowledged the dedication of the medical staff despite facing challenges and directed that the supply of life-saving medications in the emergency divisions be maintained.
The delegation also visited Ahmed Gasim Hospital, where they reviewed the rehabilitation and modernization plan. They commended the hospital administration’s efforts and affirmed the government’s commitment to supporting reconstruction projects and enhancing the facility’s operational readiness.
The tour further included the National Ambulance Center, which had recently suffered damage and looting. Dr. Haitham emphasized the urgency of reopening the center to ensure an effective emergency response and improve the efficiency of Khartoum’s health system.
