Khartoum: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, expressed Sudan’s gratitude for the ongoing support from Qatar and its health organizations. He acknowledged the significant contributions of the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) in aiding the ministry during challenging times and emphasized the need for collaboration in reconstruction efforts.
According to Sudan News Agency, this expression of appreciation was made during a meeting held on Wednesday in Khartoum, where Dr. Ibrahim met with Dr. Salah-Eddin Al-Da’ak, Director of the Qatar Red Crescent Society’s office in Sudan, along with his delegation. The meeting was also attended by several directors from the ministry’s general directorates.
Dr. Ibrahim highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation through an institutional partnership aimed at supporting and solidifying Sudan’s health system. He assured that all necessary facilities would be provided, especially concerning the reception of a substantial grant and the distribution of medicines supplied by the Qatar Fund for Development across various regions.
Additionally, Dr. Ibrahim announced the establishment of a joint technical committee to oversee the implementation phases of the health projects agreed upon by both parties.
On his part, Dr. Salah Al-Da’ak reaffirmed QRCS’s commitment to supporting Sudan’s health sector in full coordination with the Ministry of Health. He stated that QRCS would continue its assistance across Sudanese states until the health system is fully restored. He called for enhanced coordination to ensure the success of joint projects, particularly the Qatar Fund for Development initiative, and the equitable distribution of medicines.
