Gedaref: The acting governor of Gadarif State, Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Hassan Ahmed, has called upon farmers residing along the border strip to prepare for cultivating their lands in the Al-Fashaqa area. During a mass public meeting attended by citizens of the border strip villages in Al-Quraisha locality, held in Wad Koli village, the governor commended the resilience and dedication of the local population in defending the eastern gateway of the country. He emphasized the necessity of progressing towards solutions for the challenges faced by the strip villages and enhancing service delivery.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Director General of the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources, Eng. Ammar Abdullah Suleiman, highlighted the significance of advancing the agricultural sector in the region, which holds substantial economic potential for the country. He called for unified efforts to realize these aspirations.
In addition, Dr. Mohammed Abkar Wadi, the Executive Director of Al-Quraisha Locality, addressed the ongoing initiatives aimed at the development of the border strip villages, underscoring the unity symbolized by the slogan ‘One Army, One People.’ Representatives from the region and the farming community presented the comprehensive needs of the border strip villages. The governor also engaged in discussions with representatives regarding numerous regional issues.
