Genocide Claims Arise Amid Violence at Abu Shouk IDP Camp

KHARTOUM: Commander Minni Arko Minawi has condemned the violence against displaced people at the Abu Shouk camp, labeling the situation as genocide and ethnic cleansing. In a statement on social media, Minawi criticized the international community’s silence and called for urgent intervention.

According to Sudan News Agency, Minawi reported that Al-Salam 6 School and several shelters for internally displaced persons (IDPs) were targeted in deliberate artillery shelling, leading to casualties and numerous injuries. He attributed the attacks to the Janjaweed militia, highlighting a deteriorating human rights situation in Darfur.

Minawi urged the global community to act decisively and support the victims of these attacks. He emphasized his commitment to advocating for justice and pledged to continue raising his voice against the violence, regardless of the challenges.
