Kampala: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, held discussions with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Mr. Yuri Alexander Pimentel, during the 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Foreign Ministers Meeting in Kampala from October 14 to 16. Ambassador Al-Fadil briefed Mr. Pimentel on Sudan’s current developments and expressed Sudan’s intent to strengthen relations with Venezuela. This includes establishing a political consultation committee between the foreign ministries and enhancing economic ties, particularly in agriculture and mining.
According to Sudan News Agency, Mr. Pimentel affirmed Venezuela’s strong support for Sudan and its transitional government under General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC). He emphasized the importance of maintaining the historically strong relationship between the two nations, noting shared challenges that necessitate collaborative efforts. The meeting highlighted the need for cooperation and coordination to support each country’s positions in international forums, acknowledging the longstanding ties between Sudan and Venezuela.
In a separate engagement, Ambassador Al-Fadil met with Mustafa Al-Numan, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and head of the Yemeni delegation at the NAM ministerial meeting. The discussions focused on developments in Sudan and Yemen, with both parties affirming the importance of joint action to overcome challenges. The meeting stressed the need to enhance historic relations between the two countries, aiming for broader collaboration and mutual benefits.
