Khartoum: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Sudan has asserted its commitment to achieving a just peace that reflects the aspirations of the Sudanese people, emphasizing the importance of restoring their dignity and rights from the Al-Dagalo militia.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Ministry expressed its regret over the European Union’s recent conclusions on Sudan, labeling them as misguided and prioritizing political interests over peace. The Ministry highlighted that openness to international engagement does not equate to accepting any party that disrespects Sudan’s sovereignty, rejecting any comparison between the legitimate government and the terrorist militia implicated in violence and destruction.
The Ministry criticized the European Council for ignoring the Al-Dagalo militia’s siege on El-Fashir and its continuous civilian violations. It urged the EU to pressure the militia to comply with UN Security Council resolutions rather than promoting truces that allow it to reorganize.
Reaffirming its willingness for constructive dialogue with the EU, the Ministry emphasized respecting Sudan’s sovereignty and unity. Ensuring security, stability, and the restoration of rights remain Sudan’s top priorities in engaging with international partners.
