Khartoum: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Monday issued a statement regarding remarks made by Mr. Massad Boulos, Advisor for African and Middle Eastern Affairs at the White House, concerning proposals he presented to the country's leadership on issues of war and peace in Sudan.
According to Sudan News Agency, the statement emphasized that the presentation or submission of any proposals does not necessarily imply their acceptance or approval by the Government of Sudan. The Ministry clarified that while proposals are acknowledged, their endorsement is contingent upon alignment with Sudan's supreme national interests.
The Ministry added that the Government of Sudan is committed to ensuring that any proposals aimed at ending the war and achieving peace must fully respect the supreme national interests of the country. This includes safeguarding Sudan's national security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Proposals failing to meet these criteria will not receive approval or be implemented.
The statement reiterated that Sudan, as a sovereign state, determines its positions and decisions based on its supreme national interests. While the government acknowledges proposals from international friends and partners, it firmly opposes any external interference or imposition of proposals that undermine Sudan's sovereignty, unity, and legitimate rights.
