Khartoum: Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohieddin Salim, has urged individuals bearing arms in Kordofan alongside the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia to return to the nation's fold and participate in the peace process without delay. This appeal aims to unify all Sudanese towards the collective goals of reconstruction and recovery.
According to Sudan News Agency, in a joint interview with Sudan National Radio and Sudan National Television, Ambassador Salim commended the patriotic efforts of the Joint Forces during the "Battle of Dignity." He highlighted their early understanding of the conflict's nature, leading them to align with the Sudanese Armed Forces.
"The Joint Forces understood the situation as it should have been understood. That is why they are now fighting alongside the Armed Forces until the rebel RSF militia is defeated," Ambassador Salim emphasized. He expressed confidence that the Sudanese Armed Forces and the populace would ensure the RSF militia abides by the provisions of the Jeddah Declaration, despite perceived international community shortcomings. Additionally, he noted the internal fragmentation and collapse within the militia.
Ambassador Salim also praised the patriotism of Sudanese expatriates, acknowledging their support throughout the conflict. He revealed the ministry's plans to enhance public diplomacy in the forthcoming phase to capitalize on this support.
