Foreign Minister Receives Sultan of Dar Masalit Saad Bahar-Eddin

Khartoum: Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ali Youssef received in his office on Monday Sultan of Dar Masalit Saad Abdulrahman Bahar-Eddin and his accompanying delegation. The Sultan expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its mission in the United States for facilitating his recent visit and arranging important meetings with the US administration, US Congress, the United Nations, the Security Council, civil society organizations, and Sudanese communities in the United States.

According to Sudan News Agency, Sultan Bahar-Eddin described the visit as successful, achieving its objectives with support from Republican representatives in the US Congress. He highlighted that he conveyed the severity of the violations against the Masalit people to officials in both the US administration and the United Nations. This message reportedly garnered solidarity and sympathy towards the violations and genocide experienced by the Masalit.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs praised Sultan Saad Bahar-Eddin’
s efforts with the American side, emphasizing the importance of popular diplomacy and soft power in international relations. He remarked that these efforts helped illustrate the true extent of the violations faced by the Masalit community. Dr. Ali Youssef also pledged to continue informing the international community about the crimes committed by the Rapid Support Forces militia.
