Khartoum: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Ali Youssef, hosted the ambassadors of the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Indonesia, Al-Fatih Yildiz and Muhammad Sonarko, respectively, to discuss key agenda items for the upcoming Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), slated for June 21-22, 2025, in Turkey.
According to Sudan News Agency, the joint meeting underscored the importance of coordination and aligning strategies on issues to be addressed at the summit, aimed at enhancing collaborative Islamic efforts. Dr. Youssef expressed gratitude to both nations for their preparatory work for the summit, emphasizing Sudan’s commitment to supporting the OIC’s mission to unify the Islamic community and bolster solidarity among member states amidst current and future challenges.
Dr. Youssef also provided updates on the situation in Sudan, highlighting nearing the end of military operations against the rebellion. He credited the progress to the support of Allah Almighty, the valor of the Sudanese armed forces, and the public’s backing of national leadership. He detailed measures undertaken by regular forces to clear Khartoum of rebel militia influence and secure key sites, preparing for the return of diplomatic missions.
Furthermore, the Minister briefed the ambassadors on Sudan’s reconstruction efforts and plans to restore normalcy across various sectors. He outlined government initiatives aimed at addressing the impacts of war and expediting development, reflecting Sudan’s dedication to restoring stability and progress in the nation.
