Jeddah: Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohy-Eddin Sali, led the Sudanese delegation at the 22nd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), convened at the OIC General Secretariat headquarters.
According to Sudan News Agency, the session focused on Israel's recognition of 'Somaliland,' which Sudan condemned as a violation of Somalia's sovereignty and international charters. The Minister expressed Sudan's solidarity with Somalia, emphasizing support for its territorial integrity.
He also addressed the destabilizing influence of regional powers supporting terrorist groups in countries like Sudan, Somalia, and Yemen, urging collective action within the OIC to counteract these influences.
On the Palestinian issue, Sudan reiterated its support for Palestinian statehood with East Jerusalem as the capital and called for continued opposition to Israeli actions and plans. The session ended with resolutions concerning Somalia and Israeli activities in Palestinian territories.
