Khartoum: Minister of Finance Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim has affirmed the ministry’s commitment to continuing its financial and economic reform process. This announcement was made during his reception of the new State Minister at the Ministry of Finance, Mohamed Nour Abdel-Dayim, after the completion of his swearing-in ceremony, attended by the two Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Finance, at his office.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Ibrahim described Abdel-Dayim as a significant addition to the comprehensiveness and sustainability of the reform process. The Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance expressed his dedication to supporting efforts to enforce the Ministry of Finance’s control over public funds by upholding the reform policies pursued by the ministry. These efforts focus on reforming public finances, enhancing the efficiency of public spending, and implementing principles of transparency and accountability through the state’s accounting and oversight bodies.
Abdel-Dayim also indicated his
concern with supporting the budget by maximizing revenues, expanding its scope, and reducing waste through ongoing digital transformation initiatives. He emphasized his interest in completing financial reform systems, particularly the Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS), which automates public financial management processes, reduces corruption, and ensures a reliable database for decision-makers.
Furthermore, Abdel-Dayim affirmed his interest in developing economic relations with the international community and financial institutions to improve the national economy’s performance and capabilities. The State Minister also conducted an inspection tour of the ministry’s General Administrations to review the progress of overall performance.
