Finance Minister Highlights Crucial Role of Government-Private Sector Alliance in Commodity Security

Khartoum: Minister of Finance, Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim, emphasized the necessity of enhancing the partnership between the government and the private sector to secure strategic commodities, stabilize markets, fulfill citizen and production sector needs, support economic stability, and drive development.

According to Sudan News Agency, during a meeting at the ministry with the leadership of the Sudanese Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Dr. Ibrahim discussed methods to strengthen coordination between the government and the national private sector. He highlighted the commercial sector's role in ensuring the uninterrupted supply of essential goods.

Dr. Ibrahim underscored the government's commitment to facilitating the smooth importation of petroleum products, maintaining adequate supplies and stable prices due to their significance in meeting the needs of citizens, supporting productive and industrial sectors, and ensuring reliable electricity supplies.

The minister also stressed the importance of ongoing coordination with the private sector in implementing policies aimed at ensuring the availability of strategic commodities and fostering an investment-friendly economic environment.

Federation Chairman Ali Salah Ali reaffirmed the private sector's dedication to working with government institutions to ensure a stable supply of petroleum products and maintain market stability.

Both parties agreed on the importance of reinforcing coordination and partnership to improve supply chains, stabilize markets, and support overall economic stability.
