Sennar: A joint meeting chaired by Director-General of the Federal Quarantine and Slaughterhouses Directorate, Dr. Hussein Mohamed Al-Bashir, along with Director-General of the Ministry of Animal Resources and Fisheries in Sennar State, Dr. Mawahib Al-Amin Yousuf, convened with the Livestock Exporters Division in Sennar State and relevant stakeholders. The meeting focused on addressing the challenges and obstacles faced by exporters, which include issues related to taxes and local fees.
According to Sudan News Agency, the exporters' division emphasized the need for simplifying administrative procedures and reducing local charges and taxes to facilitate smoother operations. Dr. Mawahib Al-Amin Yousuf called upon the federal quarantine authorities to support the development and rehabilitation of the Ad-Dinder Veterinary Quarantine Facility, highlighting its potential for generating significant economic returns for both the state and the nation.
Dr. Hussein Mohamed Al-Bashir expressed the federal administration's commitment to resolving the challenges impeding production and export activities in the state. He underscored that these efforts would bolster Sennar's status as a leading livestock export hub. Additionally, he commended the committee working towards the removal of illegal collection checkpoints, which are seen as barriers to the efficient export process.
