Khartoum: Minister of Federal Governance and Rural Development, Engineer Mohammed Kortikela Saleh, met on Monday with the Wali of Kassala State, Major General (Ret.) Al-Sadiq Mohamed Al-Azraq, to discuss developments in the state, with particular emphasis on the education sector and ways to improve it.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Wali emphasized his administration's high priority on education and teachers' welfare. He noted that the state has successfully paid all salary obligations, although some allowances and outstanding financial adjustments are still pending resolution.
Efforts are underway to address these issues through urgent coordination with the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Finance. The minister has directed an immediate meeting with the Minister of National Education to address the outstanding issues later in the day.
The meeting underscored the importance of convening a joint session involving the Minister of Finance, the Minister of National Education, and the Wali of Kassala State. This collaborative effort aims to resolve all outstanding teachers' entitlements and allowances, thereby supporting the stability of the academic year.
