Kampala: The Executive Director of the Islamic Solidarity Fund, His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Sulaiman Aba Al-Khail, visited the headquarters of the Islamic University in Uganda. During this visit, he was joined by his delegation and was received by His Excellency Professor Ismail Simbwa Jagenda, Director of the Islamic University in Uganda, along with several academics and university staff.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the meeting included the signing of a financial grant agreement provided by the Islamic Solidarity Fund to the Islamic University in Uganda. This agreement is intended to support scholarships for needy Sudanese students, following the decisions made during the 68th session of the Fund’s Permanent Council. This session saw the approval of numerous educational and development projects across member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The signing ceremony was also attended by His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Ibrahim Jarada, the Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the Republic of Uganda. Ambassador Jarada praised the efforts of the Islamic Solidarity Fund in supporting education and scientific research, as well as providing scholarships to students in member states of the OIC.
