Al-gaddarif: A European Union delegation visiting Sudan recently held a meeting with directorates of the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources in Al-Gaddarif State. The meeting was part of a mid-term evaluation of the agricultural entrepreneurship project, implemented by Practical Action with support from the European Union. The project targets the localities of Al-Fashaga and Basunda in Al-Gaddarif State and aims to strengthen the agricultural capacities of local communities and improve livelihoods by supporting small enterprises.
According to Sudan News Agency, EU advisors Yasser Gasm-Al-Seed and Amin Al-Fadil Al-Awad explained that the visit was part of a plan to conduct a technical evaluation of the project and pay a field visit to monitor the activities being implemented on the ground. They noted that the delegation paid a field visit to a number of targeted areas in the localities to assess the actual impact of the project on the beneficiaries.
The meeting at the Ministry of Production was attended by directors of directorates related to the project, including the Directorates of Pastures and Fodder, Extension and Technology, Organization Coordination, Orchards, and Animal Health and Epidemic Control. They reviewed the overall achievements made in the recent period, along with the challenges facing the project’s implementation in its local context.
