Addis ababa: Ethiopians began casting their ballots on Monday as the country launched its 7th General Election. More than 54 million registered voters are eligible to participate, choosing from candidates representing 42 political parties.
According to Qatar News Agency, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's Prosperity Party is expected to win a majority of the seats, paving the way for him to remain in office for a new term. The vote is widely seen as a significant milestone in Ethiopia's ongoing democratic journey.
