Addis ababa: En route back to Sudan, Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris met with Sudan's Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU), Al-Zein Ibrahim, at Addis Ababa Airport. The meeting focused on the prospects for strengthening Sudanese-Ethiopian relations. It included a briefing on the situation of the Sudanese community and Sudan's presence within the mission's jurisdiction. The Prime Minister acknowledged the embassy's role in these areas.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Prime Minister also received a report on the mission's activities and its engagement with member states of the AU Peace and Security Council during this period. He remarked that lifting the suspension of Sudan's participation in the African Union would enhance the country's ability to engage effectively in African forums. Sudan is a founding and leading state in the region with significant contributions to the continent's history.
