Madani: Member of the Transitional Sovereign Council (TSC), Dr. Salma Abdel-Gabbar Al-Mubarak, commended the efforts of workers in the electricity sector and the state government during her visit to the Maranjan transformer station in the Greater Madani Locality. Her visit on Tuesday morning highlighted the ongoing initiatives to restore electricity supply in the region.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Wali of Gezira State, Al-Tahir Ibrahim Al-Khair, reiterated his government’s dedication to continue its efforts in restoring electricity supply across the state. The commitment comes as part of a broader initiative to stabilize and improve the region’s power infrastructure.
Engineer Abu Bakr Abdullah, the Director General and Acting Minister of the Ministry of Urban Planning and Public Utilities, revealed the ministry’s plan to reactivate all transformer stations. This includes support from the state government, which has supplied over a thousand barrels of oil and several transformers. However, he noted the challenge posed by the pillaging of all control switches.
Engineer Abu Zar Hassan Al-Tayib, Director of the Central Network Administration for Electricity Transmission, announced the successful rehabilitation of the Maranjan transformer station. The station is now capable of accommodating all electric transformers, activating all lines, and addressing towers that were previously affected. Efforts are also underway to replace a transformer that was burned out during the rebellion.
