Port sudan: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Dr. Nawara Abu Mohamed Mohamed Tahir, has praised the role of the Red Sea University in providing the nation with scientific and professional competencies that contribute to its development and progress.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Red Sea University held a celebration on Monday to honor Dr. Nawara, a TSC Member, in recognition of her national role and efforts in supporting higher education and community development. The celebration was sponsored by the University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdul-Gadir Badawi, and attended by the Wali (governor) of the Red Sea State, Lt. Gen. Mustafa Mohamed Nour.
Dr. Nawara expressed her appreciation for the honor, which she described as a tribute to every Sudanese woman who has laid a brick in the nation’s wall. She added that this honor carries a profound significance that the values of national giving, scientific research, and community service do not go unnoticed, but rather find their echo and appreciation in genuine institutions.
Dr. Nawara expressed her support for the University of the Red Sea and all Sudanese universities, affirming her determination to advance scientific institutions to the ranks of research universities specializing in regional issues worldwide. She also emphasized her full commitment to the Peace Center for Sustainable Development Studies.
Dr. Nawara added that her selection to the Transitional Sovereignty Council represents a trust upon all of us to move the nation toward horizons of progress and stability, guided by the values of science, truth, and justice.
For his part, the Wali of the Red Sea State expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Transitional Sovereignty Council for selecting Dr. Nawara as a member of the council, stressing that this selection will represent a true addition and support to the nation’s progress. He noted that Dr. Nawara was a nationally competent individual, having previously served as a faculty member at the University of the Red Sea, noting the important academic and research roles played by the university.
He also praised the effective partnership between the university and the state government in the areas of research and development planning, affirming the state’s commitment to supporting the university and assisting it in meeting its requirements, saying, “We will spare no effort in standing by it and achieving its aspirations.”
The Vice-Chancellor of the Red Sea University also praised Dr. Nawara’s academic and humanitarian contributions, appreciating her significant contributions to spreading knowledge among university students and her active role in serving the community in all its segments. He underlined that Dr. Nawara’s selection to the Sovereignty Council reflects a well-deserved recognition of the status of women and their growing role in nation-building, noting her proven track record of giving and dedication.
