Port sudan: Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris returned to the country on Friday following a two-day official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt. Upon arrival at Port Sudan International Airport, he was received by the Ministers of Finance, Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim, Industry and Trade, Mahasin Ali Yagoub, and a number of officials.
According to Sudan News Agency, Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism, Khalid Aleiser, stated that the visit was successful and served its purpose. He noted that it included several important meetings, events, and activities, stressing that the visit would have consequences and that it came at the right time.
Aleiser added that the delegation, headed by Dr. Kamil Idris, held joint discussions with the Egyptian side, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, which touched on a number of issues of mutual concern, top of which were the Nile water issue and how to achieve security and stability in Sudan, as well as how to preserve the Sudanese state and protect it from the violations it is exposed to at the regional and international levels.
Dr. Kamil Idris met with His Excellency Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, and a number of ministers, including the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Culture, and Tourism, as well as several other officials, indicating that the meetings were successful.
The Egyptian leadership’s stance was full of enthusiasm and support for Sudanese issues, and during the meeting with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, the delegation felt the seriousness of the Arab Republic of Egypt in serving the issues and concerns of the Sudanese people.
The joint discussions between the ministers resulted in a number of important agreements to address the concerns of the Sudanese community regarding education and residency, in addition to serving Sudan’s projects at the regional and international levels. The talks also touched on the issue of electricity interconnection and ways to cooperate in this context.
The visit also included a meeting with a group of Sudanese elites at the embassy, where the concerns of the community were discussed. Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris also met with a group of Sudanese media professionals, and discussed with them how to work together to serve the Sudanese national project and the Sudanese community issues.
