Khartoum: Minister of Digital Transformation and Communications, Eng. Ahmed Dirdiri Gandour, met in his office with Amina Mirghani Hassan Al-Tom, the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS), during her first official visit since taking office. The meeting was part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to establish a unified and secure digital environment that benefits citizens and bolsters the national economy.
According to Sudan News Agency, the minister highlighted that the primary goal of the meeting was to enhance integration between executive and financial institutions in order to achieve a cohesive vision for digital transformation. During their discussions, the minister and the CBOS governor explored several strategic projects, including the integration of the national platform ‘Baladna’ with the Central Bank’s systems. This integration aims to create a unified and secure gateway for facilitating financial and governmental services.
Furthermore, the discussions included the development of a national cybersecurity framework specifically for the banking sector to ensure stability and data protection. The meeting also covered plans to launch ‘SUDAPAY’, a unified government application designed as a digital payment platform to streamline government transactions and cater to citizens’ needs. They also deliberated on future strategies for introducing the digital Sudanese pound, aligning with global economic trends.
The minister emphasized that these initiatives form part of a broader institutional transformation strategy adopted by the state. This strategy is focused on building a modern digital infrastructure grounded in principles of efficiency, governance, and integration.
