Omdurman: Defense Minister Lt. Gen. Yassin Ibrahim Yassin conducted an inspection of the Omdurman Military Zone, accompanied by Lt. Gen. Abdul-Khair Abdullah Nassir, Commander of Air Defense and Wadi Sayidina Military Zone, along with leadership from the Ministry of Defense. The visit included an assessment of military units, medical corps, and front-line positions.
According to Sudan News Agency, the delegation was received by Maj. Gen. Dhafir Omar Abdul-Gadir, Commander of the Omdurman Military Zone, and other high-ranking officers. Maj. Gen. Dhafir provided a comprehensive report on the current operations and the successes achieved by the military forces in the region.
The Commander of the Omdurman Military Zone highlighted the liberation of several areas in the South Omdurman hub. He emphasized the resolve of commanders, officers, and non-commissioned officers in removing militia elements and securing the area.
Defense Minister Yassin commended the commitment and resilience exhibited by the military personnel in Omdurman. He noted their ability to defend the region, sustain operations under siege, and supply essential resources to local residents. The Minister acknowledged their strategic shift from defense to offensive operations, which resulted in the liberation of districts in Al-Fiteihab.
