Ad-damar: A coordination meeting between the Public Prosecution and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on forensic medicine and body handling mechanisms has concluded in Ad-Damar, River Nile State. This meeting, focusing on the rehabilitation of morgues and related mechanisms in Khartoum State, marked a significant step in cooperation between various sectors.
According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting saw participation from the heads of public prosecution offices across Khartoum State, including Bahri, Khartoum North, Omdurman Center, Khartoum South, East Nile, and Omdurman West. The Chief Public Prosecutor of River Nile State was also present, joined by representatives from the armed forces, police, the Forensic Medicine Authority, Civil Defense, and the Sudanese Red Crescent.
The meeting, organized in coordination with the International Cooperation and Human Rights Directorate at the Public Prosecution, addressed crucial topics. Participants discussed optimal mechanisms for handling corp
ses, procedures for exhuming corpses according to professional and humane standards, improving morgue work environments, and safely transporting and burying corpses from homes and public institutions.
This initiative aims to develop the forensic medicine system and enhance its capabilities, aligning with national laws and international standards.
