Khartoum: President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, has announced the formation of a committee to oversee his initiative aimed at supporting the families of martyrs, as well as the needy and displaced persons (IDPs) affected by the ongoing war. The committee will be chaired by the Minister of Defense, with the Minister of Culture and Information serving as alternate chairman. The Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid will act as a member and rapporteur.
According to Sudan News Agency, the ‘Hand in Hand’ initiative will include a wide-ranging membership comprising the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan (CBoS), undersecretaries from the Ministries of Finance and Economic Planning, Energy and Oil and Minerals, and other key figures. These include the Financial Advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Secretary-General of the Zakat Chamber, and the Director-General of the Martyr’s Organization. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Central Intelligence Service, Military Intelligence, the Customs Authority, as well as several businessmen and employers, will also be part of the initiative.
The committee is tasked with a variety of responsibilities, all aimed at addressing the needs of those affected by the conflict. Operating under the slogan ‘Recovery of the Nation,’ the initiative seeks to provide necessary support and assistance to help rebuild the lives of those impacted by the war.
