Port sudan: The 12th International Scientific Conference of the Sudanese Orthopedic Surgeons Association concluded today at Al-Rabwa Hall in Port Sudan with significant participation from experts and consultants from both inside and outside Sudan.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Badri, Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon and President of the Association, stated that the conference was a success and focused on specialized scientific papers addressing war fractures, multiple fractures, bone tumors, and complex cases amid the challenging circumstances the country is facing.
Dr. Al-Badri highlighted that the conference resulted in several key recommendations, including the emphasis on ongoing training and advancement in orthopedic surgery, the formulation of modern treatment protocols, and the strengthening of partnerships with sister and friendly countries. These partnerships aim to facilitate the exchange of experiences and the arrival of experts from abroad for training and knowledge transfer.
One of the primary recommendations from the conference was the proposal to establish the Sudanese National Center for Orthopedic Surgery. This center is envisioned to play a crucial role in training and qualifying national professionals, supporting scientific research, and identifying the needs of subspecialties. Dr. Al-Badri also expressed gratitude for the support of the Minister of Health, Professor Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, and his continuous sponsorship of the association's activities.
