Washington: US Central Command (CENTCOM) conducted strikes on Iranian radar and command and control sites for drones in Goruk and Qeshm Island in Iran this weekend. The strikes were a response to the shootdown of a US MQ-1 drone that was operating over international waters.
According to Qatar News Agency, the measured and deliberate strikes occurred on Saturday and Sunday. A statement posted by CENTCOM on X indicated that US fighter aircraft swiftly responded by targeting and eliminating Iranian air defenses, a ground control station, and two one-way attack drones. These sites and equipment were identified as posing clear threats to ships transiting regional waters.
