Khartoum: The Sudan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced that it has issued the Safe Operation Certificate for Khartoum International Airport after completing thorough audits and confirming full compliance with all safety and security standards. The CAA reaffirmed that the safety of citizens and civil aviation remains its top priority.
According to Sudan News Agency, in a statement released Thursday regarding its efforts to resume operations at Khartoum International Airport, the CAA stressed its commitment to restoring the airport’s operations in accordance with the highest international safety and security standards. It also dismissed misleading information circulating on some platforms, stressing that state institutions continue to work in full coordination and harmony within their legal mandates, free from any external interference.
A comprehensive inspection team, comprising specialists from the departments of safety, flight operations, aviation security, air transport, and air navigation, was assigned to work under challenging conditions to ensure the airport’s safe resumption of operations. Their efforts included a comprehensive assessment of facilities and navigational aids, identification and rectification of technical deficiencies and non-conformities through an integrated corrective plan, and the rehabilitation of navigation and air communication systems. This work also restored connectivity with airport stations across Sudan.
Following the completion of the auditing process and verification of compliance with all safety and security requirements, the CAA officially granted Khartoum International Airport its Safe Operation Certificate, underscoring that safety remains the highest priority.
The Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority extended congratulations to the Sudanese people and the Armed Forces for their recent victories, expressing appreciation for all personnel in the civil aviation sector, particularly those of the CAA, whose dedication made this national achievement possible despite the economic and security challenges. The CAA also urged citizens to rely on official sources and refrain from spreading or believing rumors.
