Khartoum: Attorney General Intisar Ahmed Abdel Aal met with Mr. Jos© Luiz, Deputy Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mission in Sudan, at her office. They were joined by the Head of the International Humanitarian Law Department, the Director of Operations for Combating Violence against Women, the mission's Legal Advisor, and Kamil Mahjoub Ahmed Said, First Assistant to the Attorney General.
According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing and enhancing mechanisms for joint cooperation between the Public Prosecution and the ICRC. The Attorney General acknowledged the ICRC's significant role in promoting awareness of civilian protection mechanisms and the implementation of international humanitarian law. She highlighted the importance of the training courses organized by the ICRC, particularly in forensic medicine and international humanitarian law.
Mr. Jos© Luiz outlined the mission's activities and goals in Sudan, expressing his appreciation for the collaboration with the Attorney General's office. He emphasized the ICRC's commitment to offering technical support and strengthening cooperation with the Public Prosecution.
The Director of Operations for Combating Sexual Violence praised the Public Prosecution's efforts in investigating cases and pursuing justice for survivors. The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to expand their collaborative frameworks and improve communication and coordination channels.
