White nile: The Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries, Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri, pledged the establishment of modern livestock enclosures and a feed and dairy processing plant in White Nile State during a three-day official visit to the state that concluded on Friday evening.
According to Sudan News Agency, the minister said the planned projects aim to upgrade animal production systems, raise productivity, and support value-added industries linked to meat and dairy sectors. During his visit, the minister met with livestock breeders in Wad Bala'a village, Al-Jabalain locality, to discuss the challenges they face, including breed improvement, productivity enhancement, opening of fire lines, and provision of integrated veterinary services.
The Wali of White Nile State, Gamar-Eddin Mohamed Fadl Al-Mawala, reaffirmed the state government's commitment to overcoming these challenges. He instructed the locality's executive director to prioritize measures such as opening fire lines to prevent conflicts between farmers and pastoralists.
Residents of Wad Bala'a expressed satisfaction with the plans for establishing an animal production city in the state and reiterated their support for the Sudanese Armed Forces. As part of the visit, the minister also inspected the veterinary laboratory in Rabak and announced a workshop on the present and future prospects of the animal resources sector.
In addition to these activities, the minister visited Kenana Sugar Company and praised the progress made at the factory. He also toured Al-Basateen Farm, which specializes in horticulture, as part of his extensive program in the state.
